“Have a Heart” Fundraiser for Bill Nolen

A few years back my sister and her wonderful husband Bill extended an invitation to me and my children to go to Disney and enjoy some down time at their timeshare.  We had never been to Disney before so the opportunity was a very pleasant surprise and since they are HUGE Disney fans and the perfect tour guides (especially Bill) we felt we had hit the lottery.

It’s hard to believe that three years have passed and the young boy, my son Ian, in the photo next to my sister is now six feet tall (and still growing) It is also hard to believe that my brother-in-law, who would do anything for anybody would be where he is now.

The man who guided us through Disney with the accuracy of an engineer and speed of a freight train, is now on the heart transplant list awaiting a new heart.

When people say a person has “A HEART OF GOLD” we all visualize this in a literal sense. No doubt the heart of a person is truly their soul, something Bill will not lose in all of this.  He will maintain the wonderful kindness that he has always had but this time it’s our turn to take care of him.

This is the epitome of what I speak about here on fridaynightfamily.  It gives me great pleasure to be able to provide a way for Bill to know that we are here to help each other, whether we are flesh and blood or not.

The following baskets are up for raffle. Check back frequently for updates on new baskets and donations that will be raffled off!

BASKET #1 “Healthy Summer Harvest Soup and Salad Basket”. This basket stands two feet tall! It’s base is a large restaurant quality stainless bowl filled with summer harvest soup bowls and salad plates, towels, spices, gourmet olive oil, various knives, hardwood cutting board, bar mops,Kitchen shears, salad spinner, spatula’s, bamboo tools, equivalents magnet, glass juicer, dish soap, dressing bottle and vegetable peeler. Winner will be prepared to host a Summer Garden Harvest Party!

Basket#2 – “Pizza on the Barbeque” anyone? This basket contains a pizza stone for the grill (set), pot holders and towels as well as burger baskets and catsup and mustard bottles. Winner can host a summer pizza party barbecue!

Basket #3 - “Summer Nights Chillin’ with the Family” Basket. Contains 8 minute popsicle maker, popcorn bowl with popcorn, Take a Chill Pill ice cube tray, chocolate and vanilla marshmallows with telescoping forks for roasting, barbeque spices, mosquito repellent, Tropical drink cozies and for the kiddies, rocket ballons and smiley face punching balloons. This basket is paired up with a firepot and gel (shown in another shot) for enjoying summer nights with the family…as it should be!

Basket #4 – “Summer Harvest Appetizer Basket” contains towels, cool oven mitts, Bread knife and meat carving knife, 12 appetizer plates in their own racks for display, measuring cup, stainless steel whisk, hardwood bread cutting board, counter cleaner, vinegar bottle and cheese grater. Winner will be ready for an impromptu gathering with friends and family!

Basket #11 – Family fun Stay-cation Basket – Twister, Marvel Comics Guess Who?, Spongebob kite, bubbles, S’mores grill, Outdoor tool kit, sunscreen, bug repellent, The Rum Diaries, Tower Heist, 2-Grill Mates seasonings, water balloons, soda freeze pops, marshmallows, chocolate, 2-bags of wine.

Basket #12 – Perfume Basket – 1 full-sized bottle of each: Coco Chanel, Chanel No. 5, Obsession, Ferragamo, Viva La Juicy, Versace, Angel hand cream, all in a Vera Wang box.
